With crisp black dinner suits and elegantly dressed ladies the 2016 Charity Banquet in aid of the 2021 ‘Mark’ Festival was off to a great start as guests arrived for a champagne reception and drinks in the lounge area of Middleton Masonic Hall.
The formal Charity Banquet was opened by Worshipful Brother Tony Davies, Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Chairman of the 2021 ‘Mark’ Festival who thanked guests for their support of the festival and events.
One of the great joys, and highlights, of the evening was when Right Worshipful Brother Alex McLaren, Provincial Grand Master had the pleasure of presenting three of the ladies present with the MBF honorifics:
These three ladies where awarded for the monies they had raised individually for the 2021 ‘Mark’ Festival.
The raffle from the banquet raised £1070 with a number of ladies volunteering to sell raffle tickets to 112 guests in attendance. The first prize, a colour television, went to Mrs Carol Reaney the wife of the Provincial Junior Warden.
The atmosphere throughout the banquet was both bright and engaging with many guests having the opportunity to catch up with old friends from the Mark degree and to make new ones, the atmosphere was excelled with background music that was provided by Worshipful Brother Barry Ingham who excellently played the piano during the evening.
The evening ended with a big thank you from Tony Davies with a promise that we will do it all again on September 16th 2017.
